I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about this lately, and it turns out I’m not the only one. I’ve found myself both in regards to myself and in some relationships needing to remind people of this: “If we continue to do what we’ve always done, we will get the results we’ve always gotten.” (I didn’t come up with that quote, someone else did, I just can’t remember who.)

John Maxwell is famous for saying, “We cannot become what we need to be by remaining what we are.”

Of course it makes sense. It makes perfect sense. If we do the same things, stay in the same patterns, go through the same motions, maintain the same routines, we will never change anything, we will never go about getting better, we will never create new things, we will never move on.

Of course I know that. I don’t live up to that, but I know it. How do I fix it? The only answer I can come up with is to change something.
