Who doesn’t love wearing a Burger King crown? The only problem is, it’s not a real crown. And, when you’re wearing it you’re just a big billboard for Burger King. It would be a lot more fun to wear if it was made of real gold and jewels. Well, probably not more fun. It seems like it would be uncomfortable to wear. And having a heavy, metal tire on your head might get kind of old. You’d definitely have to build up good neck muscles. But that’s another downside, you might end up looking like the incredible hulk.

The whole idea behind the crown is to show that you are set apart for something. Maybe you’re set apart to be a king or a queen, or a priest or even a creepy mascot with an oversized head. But, when you wear a crown, you’re showing that you’re set apart for something special.

So, when She (wisdom) puts a beautiful crown on you, She is setting you apart. When you pair this with the idea of writing wisdom on your heart – learning to hear the right message – you find yourself being set apart for a calling.

Proverbs 4:7-10

Wisdom is supreme—so acquire wisdom,
and whatever you acquire, acquire understanding!
Esteem her highly and she will exalt you;
she will honor you if you embrace her.
She will place a fair garland on your head;
she will bestow a beautiful crown on you.”
Listen, my child, and accept my words,
so that the years of your life will be many.

Whatever it is we seek…whatever it is that we desire…wisdom must be high on our list. And when it is, we get the privilege of being crowned. And when you’re crowned by wisdom, you bear the trademark of wisdom instead of the whopper.
