Happy Thanksgiving

There has been an awesome thing going on this year on Facebook. I don’t know if you’ve been a part of it, but it’s been great to follow. There is a group of people who have committed to saying something they are thankful for every day. Some have stuck through the whole month so far.

The great thing about it is that we have so much to be thankful for, if we would just stop and think for a minute about it. We’re usually in too big a hurry to be thankful, let alone give thanks for something specific.

But we are so blessed. We have so much that many would kill for, that many would risk their own lives to try to attain. But too often we’re too busy to stop and even think about what one of those things could be. Worse yet, we find more and more to complain about as we become more and more focused on ourselves and our desires.

This year, let’s stop and give thanks, and not just our generic thanks, but for something specific.

Let me start. I’m thankful for you and for the Vancouver First Church of God. It is a tremendous blessing to be a part of this body and to be a part of what God wants to do through our church.

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His love endures forever!
